Blake Hall Elite Hoops Basketball

Blake Hall

Blake Hall is a native of Charleston, South Carolina, where he graduated from Pinewood Preparatory School. During his two years at Pinewood, he helped lead the basketball team to back-to-back state championship appearances, while also being selected to the All-Region and All-State teams each year. To this day, Hall still holds the Pinewood school record for single game 3-point field goals (10) and single-season 3-point field goals (84).

Hall went on to play collegiately, finishing his career at Coker College, where he served as team captain his senior season. In addition, he was selected representative for Coker College on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Following college, he went on to play professionally in Europe. His career ended playing in the Slovenian First League amongst several future NBA players, most notably current NBA All-Star and guard for the Miami Heat, Goran Dragic.

After his playing career ended, Hall’s passion for basketball continued. In 2007, he volunteered as an assistant coach for his alma mater Pinewood Prep. During the 2007-2008 campaign, he coached four Division I signees and a McDonald’s All-American. The season concluded with a 3-A State Championship and a #13 national ranking by HoopsUSA.

During the 2008 summer, Hall accepted a position at The Citadel, where he worked under 2009 Southern Conference Coach of the Year, Ed Conroy. While he was on staff from 2008-2010 The Citadel basketball program celebrated its most successful two-year stint, finishing second in the 2009 SOCON behind the Davidson Wildcats, led by NBA All-Star Steph Curry. During his time with The Citadel, he had the opportunity to assist in the development of many Bulldog greats including Cameron Wells, all-time leading scorer and Zach Urbanus, career leader in 3-point FG made.

In 2011, Hall accepted the position of Head Basketball Coach at North Charleston High School. In his only season there, he was able to lead the Cougars to their first State Championship in fifteen years, and assisted four seniors in accepting scholarships to play collegiate basketball.

Currently, Hall is in his sixth season as Head Coach of Goose Creek High School, in Goose Creek, South Carolina. In 2012-2013, his first season, he led the Gators to a 22-5 record, a Region Championship, and a 4-A State Championship Game appearance.

During his seven seasons as a head coach Hall has helped 17 young men receive scholarships to play basketball at the collegiate level. His teams have won four region championships, appeared in two state championship games, and won one state title.

Since joining Elite Hoops in 2014, Ché Roth has been Directing all of our Charlotte area events. He has worked with a number of successful players, and has experience from prep school to the NBA level.

Roth had a successful career from 2005-07 as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach for the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he coached alongside UMKC’s all-time winningest coach. There, he recruited, coached and developed nine all-conference players, coached nine professional players, and coached one All-American selection.

From 2007-2012, Roth was a member of the Kennesaw State University coaching staff, where he was the director of recruiting and scouting. There, he recruited the top rebounder and top scorer in school history, coached five 1,000 point scorers, and coached seven professional players. In 2012, Roth’s success with finding and developing talented players was acknowledged when he was named a scout for the Executive Director of the National Basketball Association (NBA) Scouting.

Currently, Roth is in his sixth season as Head Coach at Cannon School in Concord, NC. In 2013-14, Roth coached his team to a 16-11 record, while continuing to develop his players’ skill sets. In his first year at the helm, he tripled the school’s wins from the previous season. He also helped develop two All-Conference selections, and was named a Nike Pre-Draft Camp Coach last spring.

Throughout his career, Roth has made four NCAA Tournament appearances, won three conference championships, won a silver medal in World Competition, coached 26 professional players, 16 All-American selections, and had nine recruiting classes recognized nationally.

Dan Gilbert Elite Hoops Basketball

Daniel Gilbert is entering his third season with Elite Hoops.

Coach Gilbert has lived and coached in the Chattanooga area for 13 years. He played college basketball at Covenant College on Lookout Mountain, Georgia. After playing, Coach Gilbert coached at the collegiate level at his alma mater, and then at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. Coach Gilbert has turned his attention to the high school level over the past nine years. He currently coaches in multiple capacities for the middle and high schools at The Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN.

Coach Gilbert is passionate about teaching fundamentals to youth, while placing a high emphasis on core values and building relationships. He has a strong desire to grow Chattanooga basketball, and has been training local players, as well as running multiple leagues, in the city for several years.

Jason Harman Elite Hoops Basketball

Joining Elite Hoops in the winter of 2014, South Carolina native Jason Harman brings much experience and basketball acumen from Elite Hoops’ newest basketball territory. Coach Harman has been selected to direct all Nike Camps and skill development training sessions throughout the Greater Columbia area of SC as well as the western part of the state into the Aiken/Augusta (GA) area.

Coach Harman has been ingrained in the basketball world as a player and now coach for the majority of his life. Over the past 13 years, Jason has dedicated himself to developing student-athletes across SC to become outstanding individuals on and off the court as he has helped lead countless players to successful high school, college, and even professional basketball careers. In 2010,  he founded 3D Hoops Academy in the Columbia area and continues today as the CEO of the company. Jason’s 3D Hoops program is the only comprehensive NCAA approved training outlet in South Carolina. Over the years, Coach Harman has coached at his Lexington High School alma mater under SC Hall of Fame coach Bailey Harris, and his 3D Hoops staff has also led several AAU teams to championship levels. Currently, Jason is also helping form the foundation of a new varsity basketball program, Northside Christian Academy, where he is head coach of the fastest growing private school in SC.

During his playing career Jason was selected as an All-Region/All-Area player at Lexington High School and helped lead the Lexington Wildcats to the 1996 4-A State Championship as well as to the 1997 State Finals. In his junior season, Wildcats star guard also went head to head against NBA legend Kobe Bryant at the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach. After high school, Jason played four years of NCAA College Basketball at USC-Aiken, where he was Co-Captain of the 2000-2001 Pacer squad. He was also named Peach Belt Academic All-Conference by Daktronics from 1999-2001. As a collegiate senior, Jason was selected to receive USC Aiken’s top athletic honor for success on and off the court, the 2001 USCA Student-Athlete Leadership Award. After college, Jason was chosen in 2002 to compete against the professional national teams in Africa. Jason later furthered his education by obtaining his Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development from Clemson University.

Jason is married to his wife Christina, a former college basketball player at Lander University, and they have two beautiful daughters, McElson and Madison.

Micah Marsh Elite Hoops Basketball

Micah Marsh joined Elite Hoops during the Summer of 2012 to help co-direct the first NIKE camp in Little Rock, Arkansas. This camp has been a huge success, selling out for the past five years.

In 2013-14 Marsh coached his Episcopal Collegiate team to a record of 29-3 and won the state championship. 2011-2012 was Coach Marsh’s first year at Episcopal Collegiate School in Little Rock, Arkansas. His team finished the year as Conference 3A-5 Champs, Region 2 Champs, and made it to the Elite Eight in the state tournament. During the 2012-2013 season, which was Marsh’s second year at Episcopal, the team finished 31-4 and made an appearance in the state championship for the first time in school history.

The previous nine years, Marsh was the Head Coach at Alcoa High School in east Tennessee. While at Alcoa, Marsh took the Tornadoes to one final four, two elite eights, and four sweet sixteens. He was named the East TN Coach of the Year in 2004.

Before high school coaching, Marsh was an assistant coach at Arkansas State University from 2000-2002. He also served as a graduate assistant for ASU from 1998-1999.

Marsh played college ball at Arkansas State University from 1994-1998. As a four-year starter he finished his career as the all-time leading three-point shooter and finished in the top-ten in scoring, assists, steals, and free throw percentage. He was a member of the Sun Belt All-Conference Team his senior year. He was also elected into the ASU Hall of Honor in 2007.

Elite Hoops Basketball Brandon Friedel

Brandon Friedel has been working with Elite Hoops since the summer of 2012 as a camp coach. He has been the assistant camp director for the Nike basketball camps in Little Rock, AR since the summer of 2013.

Friedel is in his third year as the Head Basketball coach at Episcopal Collegiate. This past season, the team won the Conference Championship, Regional Championship, and State Championship. The previous three seasons, he served as the assistant which included two Conference 3A-5 Championships, two Region 2 Championships and two state championships in 2014 and 2015.

Before coaching in high school, Friedel served as the graduate assistant coach at Arkansas Tech University. While coaching at ATU from 2010-2013, the team won the Gulf South Conference Championship 2011 and the Great American Conference Championship 2012 and qualified for the NCAA national tournament all three years with one Sweet 16 appearance.

Friedel played his collegiate ball at Arkansas Tech University from 2006-2010. As a four year starter he finished his career in the top 5 in made 3-point field goals career and 3-point field goals for a single season. During a successful senior season, ATU was ranked #1 in the nation for NCAA DII schools while earning All-American honors and was the Gulf South Conference Player of the Year in 2010. He was also selected to play in the NCAA DII All-Star game in Springfield, MA.

Phil Morrison Elite Hoops Basketball

Phil Morrison brings the experience of playing professional basketball, as well as training players at every level, from beginner to professional.

He graduated and played college basketball at Asbury University, where he was an All-American selection, and one of the top scorers in the nation and school history. After his collegiate career, Phil went on to play professionally overseas in six different countries. During his career he played the point and shooting guard positions.

He prides himself on a strong work ethic, mental training and skills development. His commitment to these areas is what helped him become successful at every level, without being the biggest, fastest or the best athlete on the court.

As a skills development trainer, Phil has led camps and clinics internationally around the world, and is currently the Director of Basketball Training at MidAmerica Sports Center in Louisville, Kentucky. He joined the Elite Hoops staff in 2016 as the Nike Camp Director for Kentucky. Phil is also involved in using basketball development as a way to invest in the community through different church ministries and charitable events. He trains players and teams full-time in Louisville, Kentucky where he emphasizes the importance of developing your character and mental state, as much as your physical skills.
Becky LeGate Elite Hoops Basketball

Becky LeGate brings years of experience and knowledge to the Elite Hoops staff. The former Belmont University player began her coaching career at Davidson Academy in Nashville. There, she was able to coach her varsity teams to an impressive eight regular season district championships, seven district tournament championships, two Region 5-A tournament appearances, three Division II-A East Region Regular Season Champions, two Division II-A East Region Tournament Championships, and an appearance in the Division II-A State Final Four. During LeGate’s reign at Davidson, she was nominated District 10-A Division I-A Coach of the Year an impressive six times.

After a successful career at Davidson Academy, Becky decided to take her talents to Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville. Recently, LeGate coached her new varsity team to two state championships, including a 36-3 season that set the school record in victories.

The success that LeGate helped bring the school earned her more awards, such as the 2011 and 2012 District 10-AA Division I Coach of the Year, 2012 State Champions Class AA Coach’s Award, 2012 Tennessean Coach of the Year, 2012 Nashville City Paper Coach of the Year, 2011-2012 A.F. Bridges Sportsmanship Award, Coach of the Year, 2011-2012 State of Tennessee Girls’ Basketball Coach of the Year, 2013 District 10-AA Division I Coach of the Year, and 2013 State Champions Class AA Coach’s Award.

Drew Maddux Elite Hoops Basketball

Patrick Drew Maddux lives in Nashville, Tenn with his wife Tara along with their three daughters and two sons. Since 2006 he has been Director of Admissions and Head Coach of the Boy’s Basketball team at Christ Presbyterian Academy and was promoted to his current position as Associate Head of School, Advancement in 2017. In 2020, Maddux became a best selling author with “Elevated” a motivational book on being the best version of you. The Tennessee native earned his Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University in Human and Organizational Development.
While at Vanderbilt, Maddux excelled on the court and in the classroom, earning All-SEC First Team and All-SEC Academic honors. Upon graduating in 1998, he quickly immersed himself in the local business community, while staying involved with his true love of basketball and mentoring young people. Before the age of 25, he became Executive Vice President of a regionally based restaurant chain while serving as a volunteer assistant coach at his high school alma mater. From there, he went on to co-found Healthcare Affiliate Partners in 2004 and worked as a college basketball analyst for Fox Sports South, Comcast Sports, and regional affiliates of Fox, WB, and UPN as well as co-hosting his own radio show on Nashville sports talk radio station 104.5 “The Zone.”
By 2006, everything came back full circle for when he accepted his current position at Christ Presbyterian Academy. Under his leadership, the basketball program at CPA has won numerous district and region titles, and back to back state championships in 2012 and 2013. He has had multiple players receive full athletic scholarships and win the annual TSSAA Mr. Basketball award. In addition to his work at CPA, Maddux continues to remain involved as a college basketball analyst and spends his summers coaching AAU Basketball.

Kevin Maggard Elite Hoops Basketball

Kevin Maggard

Kevin is in his sixth year with Elite Hoops.

Maggard played college basketball at Belmont University from 1995-96. There, his junior year record was an impressive 37-2, and senior year was 28-11. Both years, Belmont made it to the NAIA Final Four. Maggard was named NAIA Academic All-American his senior season.

Kevin began his coaching career at Davidson Academy in 1997 as an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach, and later became Head Boys Basketball Coach in 2002. He coached the varsity boys team to the school’s only sub-state appearances in 2002 and 2008. Maggard currently is an assistant varsity girls coach at CPA, while also coaching the 6th-8th grade teams.

Maggard coached a girl’s college exposure team, Pure Sweat Elite, for three summers beginning in 2010. All eight girls received Division 1 scholarships, including Oklahoma, Belmont, Lipscomb and High Point. In addition, he coached the Select AAU girls team that finished in the Top 15 in both 2011 and 2012.
